September News

The Temple’s new address:

7 The Willows

Shillingford St George

Exeter

EX2 9QS

We moved in on Saturday 8th, there was a good crew of eight for what turned out to be a long day, thank you all.

The following 10 days or so has been fairly non-stop too, much has been done and thank you to the people who have been here to help sort and install. The assistance has made much possible. There is a lot more to do, much of the short term things are well enough there, the medium and long term things are many and can wait. We are established enough to start welcoming people.

I’m glad to say that we can hold a meeting this coming Sunday 28th. It will be the usual schedule with some variation due to change of place, all will become clear. Please come in person to the temple or join on Zoom.

The weekday zazen will briefly resume next Tuesday. I will be away the following week and again at the end of September. Please see the calendar for details. We will be starting somewhat gradually I feel.

Most of the building has been rewired and safety alarms have been wired in as well. In October, the drainage system is going to be renovated.

Quite a bit of shopping has been going on, perhaps the most significant being matching chairs for the common room and furniture for the office, all of which are pre-owned.

Shillingford St George is in a lovely rural location, within a couple of miles of Exeter. Members of the village community have quickly made the temple and myself feel very welcome.

In time, there’s quite a bit to be added or changed on the website. I will be putting a what3twords link on the ‘find us’ page.

Take care,

In Gassho

Rev. Willard
