Day Retreats

Our Retreat Days give the opportunity to follow a schedule that encourages you to deepen your meditation practice, focusing on grounding yourself in the quiet pace of the day.

We have formal meditation periods, a period of working meditation, a formal lunch and time for rest and reflection.

Having a formal meal follows the Zen practise of offering gratitude for the food we eat and giving it the respect of paying attention when we eat it.

This is encouraging us to see that the mundane is also this very moment, the whole of life to be still relaxed and alert in.

We have two more periods of sitting meditation in the afternoon, followed by tea and Dharma class.

The day finishes in a short ceremony where we dedicate the  day’s practice to the good of all beings.

Beginners are welcome.

You must book for this event at least one week in advance.
